I’ve joined Josephine’s Online Pilates classes over lockdown and have really enjoyed them. All the exercises are tailored to ensure we are working at the appropriate levels. I can feel the improvement in my posture and I am much more supple. I would certainly recommend and will be joining Josephine’s gym classes as soon as they are available.

I first came to one of Jo's classes in Jan 2014 after suffering for 2 years with back problems and tight hamstrings. After spending a fortune on chiropractic treatments it was suggested I try Pilates, it was then that I contacted Josephine and went along to her Thursday evening class. I was a little apprehensive at first being the only man but need not have been as Jo and the other ladies put me immediately at ease. Pilates has been a major factor in me being able to doing a physically demanding job that I enjoy and also being able to continue playing badminton. I would definitely recommend Pilates to anyone and Jo is a super teacher.

I started Pilates... in order to stem the middle age decline of my flexibility. In addition to achieving that I gained a better awareness of my body and its various groups of muscles.  As Pilates is linked to your breathing you do it at your own pace. This helps to sense which muscles are working and get some feedback from your body while you are doing it and “customize” the challenge.  I really value Josephine’s expertise. She clearly has a sound knowledge of the loco-motor system. Her exercises are taylor-made to suit the spectrum of abilities within the group with a number of “extensions” to provide more challenge to some and various tips to avoid excessive stress on certain joints etc.   During class we are obviously focussed on the exercise. But we are a friendly bunch and sometimes go for a coffee to the nearby Park Life Cafe afterwards.

Love these classes. Good advice given with position and movements have help me be more confident in my own abilities. Working at a relaxed pace and among people who make you feel welcome to the group are an added bonus.  I feel these classes give a great workout for the whole me. I am working areas not challenged by other exercise.

Time flies and I am sorry when the hour is over! Pilates is helping ...combating the effects of aging!  I like Josephine's relaxed and informal style of teaching coupled with a supportive awareness of the individuals within the class.

Josephine always gives thought to her prep.  Although there is obviously a basic structure to the lesson there is always variation and variety in the exercises which keeps the course enjoyable.

Josephine follows a good selection of different exercises and stretches..... I always feel exercised and more supple when I leave. Overall, I feel much more flexible and fitter than before I started.

I joined to strengthen my inner core and certainly feel that I have done that, I also find that I ache less as I'm stretching out stiff muscles.
